If you like being in the center of the action, you’ll want to stay at Majestic Inn & Spa on your visit to Anacortes, Washington. The historic boutique hotel by the water is on Commercial Avenue in downtown. The Majestic Inn serves as a great jumping off point for Fidalgo Island and the surrounding San Juan Islands in Washington State.

This was my second visit to the the seaside town of Anacortes, and first time for a winter visit. The 64-room, five story property has had several lives before it became a 4-star hotel. Previously serving as an office building and a hardware store, the Majestic Inn & Spa now combines the historic building with its contemporary counterpart, next door. All of the rooms are unique. Some of the rooms in the newer, contemporary hotel building are pet-friendly.

My husband and I were enjoying an off season escape to Fidalgo Island and Whidbey Island to further explore the Pacific Northwest. As it was February , we opted for the Romance Package and were greeted by rose petals scattered throughout our suite.

Our Majestic Suite was the ideal honeymoon suite. Located on the 5th floor, our two-room suite offered excellent views of downtown Anacortes and a peak of the waterfront. We opted for the Romance Package upgrade because we celebrated Valentine’s Day early. You’ll notice the bed was covered in rose petals. The Majestic Inn staff also had a bottle of wine and box of locally made chocolates waiting for us in our room.

Anacortes, Washington Hotel Dining Options

Dining and libation options are within reach at the hotel. Onsite 5th Street Bistro & Bar is located on the first floor of the Fidalgo Island hotel, across from reception. Breakfast is not included with the price of the room, but prices are reasonable. We also enjoyed the Happy Hour at 5th Street Bar within the hotel.

As the hotel is located on Commercial Avenue in downtown Anacortes, there are plenty of restaurants (and book stores) within walking distance of the inn. We’ve dined at Nonna Luisa Ristorante several times and never been disappointed with our Italian dinners and fresh seafood.

Apothecary Spa within Majestic Inn

I can’t say enough good things about Apothecary Spa. While not owned by the hotel, the spa is clean and professionally managed by a local businesswoman. It appears I’m not alone in my positive assessment of the spa. This place was popular with Anacortes locals, as well as some ladies from nearby Whidbey Island. I tried the one hour massage and the facial and felt like I’d enjoyed a full spa day. Guests have access to the sauna if they booked a spa treatment. On our visit, there was also the option of a spa Day Pass for hotel guests.
