We planned a three night stay in Sedona, Arizona and Holiday Inn Express Sedona – Oak Creek fit our criteria. We were looking for a pet-friendly hotel, located near Sedona hiking trails, that was easily accessible and affordable. Located 2 hours south of the Grand Canyon and 2 hours north of Phoenix, this Holiday Inn Express had all the amenities we needed and then some. If you are traveling with bicycles, you’ll want to read this hotel review.
It’s not often that you have access to gorgeous views of Red Rocks and a friendly staff, in addition to an affordable hotel price tag. We found all of the above at Holiday Inn Express Sedona in the Oak Creek area. This hotel will appeal to the bikers, as well as the hikers, as Bell Rock and many accessible trails are close by.
We had been traveling for many days on the road. The two-story hotel, and our king room specifically, was a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of constant travel. We were looking forward to spending 3 days and nights in Sedona to explore the Red Rocks area.
The 3-star Holiday Inn Express offered easy check-in and the front desk manager was full of local dining tips. We stayed in room #225, located on the second floor, away from the elevator and ice machine. The top photo is the view of the Red Rocks from our hotel room. We also liked that we could keep an eye on our car from our hotel room. The parking lot was well lite. There was an additional charge for parking, however, it was a nominal fee.
Our bathroom featured a walk-in shower with J.R. Watkins bath amenities and a hair dryer. The room itself had a small coffee area with Keurig coffee maker. Additionally, there was a mini fridge, microwave oven and desk area for working or dining. There was also a flat screen television, but if you’re staying in Sedona, you know this place is all about connecting with nature.
Holiday Inn Express Hotel Amenities
I’ve stayed at several Holiday Inn Express hotels from Paris, France to Albuquerque, New Mexico. They always have nice amenities such as a swimming pool or fitness center. In Sedona, I found something new for the bicycle riders in the group.
Sedona’s biking trails are a huge draw to mountain bikers. What a surprise when I spotted the Dero Fixit Repair Station behind the hotel. Not only can you lift your bike onto the repair rack, it also comes with a wide array to tools to fix anything that needs repairing on your bike. Additionally, the hotel had an electric car charging station and an outdoor swimming pool.
The pool and hot tub were both clean and heated on our December visit. Additionally, there were lounge chairs and towels for hotel guests to use.
Are you traveling with children? All Holiday Inn Express hotels include a complimentary Express Start Breakfast. Our breakfast offered scrambled eggs, ham, make-your-own pancakes, yogurt, fresh fruit and a variety of hot and cold cereal. The cinnamon rolls were pretty good, too.
Hotel prices start at $159 to $400 depending on season and availability. Some rooms are dog-friendly with an additional fee. On our stay, the pet rate was $30 per night. Be sure to set aside time to explore Bell Rock and the hiking and biking trails when you visit Sedona.
Check the website for AAA rates and packages. See more at the Holiday Inn Express Sedona-Oak Creek website. You can also compare rates and book at Hotels.com or Booking.com.
